Jiyoon & Robert / A Refined Wedding at the Ritz Paris

There are weddings that impress, and there are weddings that stay with you. Jiyoon and Robert’s intimate celebration at The Ritz Paris belonged to the latter. Set in the hotel’s historic courtyard, their day unfolded with a quiet confidence, classic white and green florals, restrained elegance, and a sense of intention that could be felt in every detail.

From our first correspondence, Jiyoon’s gentleness was unmistakable. There is a generosity in her presence, she’s soft-spoken, thoughtful, observant. Robert balances her beautifully; playful, expressive, quick to laugh. Together, they create a rhythm that feels both grounded and alive and photographing them never felt performative, only honest.

The ceremony was officiated by both their sisters, a deeply personal decision that set the tone for the entire day. Beneath a refined floral arch designed by Anne Vitchen, surrounded only by their closest family and friends, they exchanged vows that left few dry eyes. The bride’s parents and sister wore traditional hanbok, honouring their heritage in a way that felt natural and dignified. It was a union not only of two people, but of families and cultures. Jiyoon, a fashion designer herself, wore a voluminous gown by Monique Lhuillier paired with crystal-embellished pumps by Manolo Blahnik. Her bouquet, simple lily of the valley was understated and poetic, echoing the aesthetic of the day: refined, timeless, intentional.

After the ceremony, we moved slowly through the interiors and courtyards of The Ritz Paris. No rigid direction, no forced poses, only subtle guidance and space for them to be as they are. Their young nephew ran freely through the courtyard, laughing, pulling me into his small adventures. Those unscripted moments, the in-between, the movement, the breath are often the ones that define a wedding gallery.
